1. Bashundhara City Shopping Complex
Bashundhara City Shopping Mall is one of the
largest shopping complexes in Bangladesh. This modern western-style shopping
mall was established on 2004 and since then it has become one of the most
popular places for shopping and entertainment. It is located at Panthapath
near the center of Dhaka. To go there first go to the “SAARC Fountain” circle
at Hotel Sonargaon turning, then turn west of the fountain and on the north
side of the street is the complex. This mammoth shopping complex is a 19
storied high building covering an area of 191200 sq. ft. comprising of a 8
storied podium and a 19 storied tower. The mall has space for 2,325 retail
stores where top Bangladeshi brands resides with vast range of products. It
also has cafeterias and a large gymnasium, a multiplex cinema, a top-floor food
court, an ice skating rink, a theme park and the biggest gaming zone in
Bangladesh. On the podium part level 1-4 is dedicated to fashion products like
ready made garments, men, women and children’s clothing, saree and cosmetic
products. On level 5 and 6 you will find electrical and electronic products,
mobile and IT products, computers and musical instrument shops. The whole level
7 is for leather and footwear products. Level 8 is where the cine complex, food
court and indoor theme park are situated. On the tower part there are office
spaces, Fitness center, gaming zone and roof top restaurant are located. The
fully air-conditioned shopping mall with rooftop gardens is considered a modern
symbol of the emerging Dhaka.
Jamuna Future Park is an architectural marvel and aesthetically
beautiful shopping mall in Dhaka. It is the largest shopping mall in the
country. The complex is spread across 33 acres of land in Kuril, Baridhara,
situated on the Pragati Sharani, neighboring Gulshan, Banani, Uttara and
Bashundhara. It is relatively close to Shahjalal International Airport, offices
of multinational companies, major embassies and other offices. This centrally
air-conditioned shopping complex has seven floors, equipped with its own power
plant and WiFi internet. The lower basement and middle basement floor are
reserved for car parking and a portion for a supermarket and a hypermarket.
Level 1 is the base floor for all atria, facilities for live entertainment,
musical and fashion shows. From the ground floor to the fifth floor, there are
several categories of outlets, non-branded shops, banks, online booths and food
courts. The fifth floor has space for a children’s theme park, a gymnasium and
a health club, two separate swimming pools for men and women, exhibition halls,
banquet halls, international standard movie theater with seven individual
halls, 22-lane bowling alley with karaoke facilities, and a musical and
entertainment floor. Jamuna Future Park is also going to have Dhaka’s second
ice skating rink. Here you will find international brands like KFC, Pizza Hut,
Burger King, Krispy Kreme, Boost Juice, Lotto, Levi’s, Hush Puppies, Bata,
Clarks, Raymond, Uniqlo, M.A.C, Manyavar, Miniso, The Body Shop, Splash etc.

New Market is one of the most famous and old markets in Dhaka
city. Built in 1954, it was the first modern shopping center in Dhaka city.
Situated on 35 acres in this market has a unique triangular shape with high
arched entry gates on three sides. This shopping area is not limited by this
space rather it is a center of a large shopping areas and complexes like Chadni
Chawk, Chandrima shopping complex, Bot Tola new market and Nilkhet book market.
During 1950’s and 1960’s, it was the most popular place for shopping as well as
recreation. Novelty, an ice-cream shop, was one of the most popular
destinations of the young people. During the 1980s, 3 more New Market blocks
were constructed in the north under Dhaka City Corporation, for example, New
Super Market for crockeries, Bonolata for kitchen market, Chandrima and Gausia
market for varieties of items and D block for groceries, each having over
thousand shops. A park inside has been converted into a mosque at first floor
level with sixty new shops under it. This historical market is the best market
in town for buying all types of products. If you are good at bargaining then
you will be able to buy products at a much cheaper price than other markets. In
peak hours, it will be crowded so try to visit in off-pick hours to shop in
peace.
Police Plaza Concord Shopping Mall is multistoried commercial
building is a centrally air-conditioned shopping complex and offices are
equipped with modern facilities. This plaza was jointly built by Bangladesh
Police Welfare Trust and Concord Group adjacent to Hatirjheel on the way to
Gulshan Circle 1. Its basic foundation is 16-storey and at present is
12-storey. The Plaza comprises 2 towers. Its 3 basements are with a parking
capacity of 241 vehicles. Its shopping complex is up to 5 floors and the floors
(6th – 12th) used as commercial offices.

is a bustling part of Dhaka city and a large number of modern shopping centers
and high-rise buildings have been developed in this area. Mascot Plaza is one
of the better-known modern shopping centers where a family can shop for a wide

shopping center was established in 2001 at Uttara sector-9, built in Middle
East style of architecture. In fact the whole plaza has a touch of the Middle
